Do not park at a red curb.  Parking at a red curb will likely disrupt critical traffic.  For example, red curbs can be painted so that fire engines can turn onto the street.  Curbs at bus stops are red.

Do not park at a blue curb unless the car is handicapped.  These spaces are reserved for the handicapped.  

Yellow curbs have effective days and time windows.  Read the print on the curb to determine whether the parking spot is reserved for commercial vehicles.  Outside the time windows, you can park there.

Green curbs are for short term parking.  Green curbs have effective days and time windows.  The duration limit changes location from location.  Read the print on the curb to determine whether the duration limit applies.
